I’m Javed Jeetoo, a self-taught hobbyist photographer based in Mauritius. My passion for photography began as a way to break free from the structured nature of my full-time role in the corporate world. Through the lens, I discovered a different way of thinking, one that invites spontaneity and exploration.

I love capturing the island’s dynamic seascapes and the bustling energy of street life in Mauritius. The southern coast, with its volcanic cliffs and powerful ocean swells, is a particular favorite of mine. These scenes, with their dramatic interplay of light and shadow, speak to me in a way that sandy beaches simply don’t.

Street photography is another passion of mine. I’ve spent countless hours in places like Port Louis, photographing the market and people on the move. Street photography, for me, is all about the interactions and stories that unfold in those fleeting moments. It’s an opportunity to connect with strangers and briefly immerse myself in their world.

Key Highlights:

• Since 2019, I’ve been the ambassador for Luminar Neo in the African region, an award-winning photo editing software.

• In 2022, I had the honour of being part of the jury for a United Nations Photo competition in Mauritius.

• In 2023, I collaborated on drone shots for the movie Ame Coeur.
